FMLAPro was founded by leave practitioners who saw how much small to mid-size HR teams were struggling with an ever-changing patchwork of federal and state leave requirements. We built the tools we wished we had.

Our Story

FMLAPro got its start in 2009, when our founder, as a consultant for an insurance carrier, helped clients implement leave outsourcing programs. While setting up policies that dealt with tracking intermittent leave, managing state-specific rules that contradicted the federal FMLA, and keeping up with Department of Labor guidance, and the emergence of Paid Family Medical Leave (PFML), he was spending more time on compliance consulting than he was on program design. Too often, small to medium-sized businesses were left searching for a solution that simply doesn’t exist in the market.

Since no solution was available, he set out to build a better solution. Today, FMLAPro offers the most comprehensive set of FMLA compliance tools available — from interactive leave law maps to downloadable software to one-on-one consulting — all in one place. Most importantly, it allows HR professionals to manage leaves in-house their way while giving them the tools they need to do it in a compliant manner. No need for eligibility files, carriers, TPA’s who tell them what they can and cannot do.
